AIR Freight
Fast shipments fly to destination!
For small volumes air shipments can be cheaper than sea shipments so we calculate every option to get you the best deal on a shipment. We use an international courier network for our shipments. For large palletised or crated air shipments we look for the best rates available on air freight and delivery services.
Flying up to your door!
- We come at your residence and collect the boxes, suitcases, bikes, …, and whatever else you want to send. We also can do the packing, In our warehouse we prepare your shipment with labels and documentation.
- We deliver at your new residence so no hassle with going to the airport and collecting your goods (other companies only sent up to the airport, be aware of this, because extra charges unexpectedly will await you).
- We do not only sent loose items but also palletised/crated shipments what we advise for larger or more delicate air shipments. We book the air freight thru an airline and let the destination services handle by a specialized destination moving agent. When you look at the FAQ air freight section take into account that this is written for loose courier shipments. The information displayed is valid for 99% accurate for palletised or crated air shipments as well.

STEP 1: The quote
You want to receive a quotation, please fill out the quotation form.
• Make sure you understand the quote correctly and have asked us for the right volume/weight. The final price is dependent on the chargeable weight.
• What is chargeable weight? To determine the cost of services international couriers will calculate the chargeable weight of a shipment.
The chargeable weight is either the actual weight or the converted volumetric weight, whichever is the highest. Volume is converted into weight by a 1m³=200kg ratio.
Conversion of volume: The volume is converted by a ratio of 1m³ = 200 kg. So for 1m³ the chargeable weight is at least 200 kg (even if the actual weight is only e.g. 150 kg) but if the actual weight is e.g. 250 kg the chargeable weight is 250kg.

Let’s demonstrate with an example:
A box with dimensions in cm 62 x 40 x 30
How to calculate the volume?
0,62 x 0,40 x 0,30 = 0,0744m³
What is the volumetric weight of this box?
0,0744 x 200 = 14,88 kg -> 15 kg
If the actual total weight is higher than 15 kg than the chargeable weight is the actual weight.
If the actual weight is lower than 15 kg than the chargeable weight is the volumetric weight.
For every item in your shipment this is calculated and the sum of all the chargeable weights of all the boxes/suitcases is the total chargeable weight upon your quote/invoice is calculated.
For palletized air shipments the volume is calculated by the outside dimensions of the pallet.
STEP 2: The booking
- We have already completed the booking form attached with your quote with the information provided to us. Please complete this form and sent it back to us. Upon receiving your booking we will confirm this.
- Ordering packing materials, pick up date, …, all comments can be left on this booking form.
STEP 3: Boxes and packing
• When packing your shipment consider that you use a sturdy box. A well packed box should with stand a fall from 1m. high on any surface or rib without damage to the box or its content. We advise double walled boxes, certainly for fragile items and heavy boxes (+15 kg).
• You can use any size box you like. Boxes / suitcases can be of different dimensions. It’s better to ship two small boxes than 1 big box.
• For each box you need to make a detailed and valued inventory. We can provide you with an example Excel file that you can alter to your needs.
• Make sure you do not pack any items that are listed as ‘dangerous’ or ‘forbidden’. Customs can inspect your shipment and remove these items and levy a fine.
STEP 4: Documentation
- Your shipment will need proper documentation for customs.
- You will need to provide us with these documents :
- The booking confirmation form
- Detailed and valued inventory(*)
- Passport copy (+Visa if applicable)(*)
- Completed and signed dangerous goods form(*)
- Insurance list (if you need insurance)(**)
- Customs forms (USA, Australia, … we will send you the forms if applicable)(*)
(*) only for shipments going outside the European Union. (**) only when opting for insurance.
STEP 5: Pick up and payment
• Our driver normally collects your boxes from a ground floor/front door level. Please make sure the boxes are prepared. Unfortunately the courier cannot wait for last-minute packing if not advised on beforehand. Collections other than ground floor need to be requested. If no elevator is available a small fee is charged.
• If you choose full packing by our services, our crew will bring all packing materials and pack on the day of pick up. Please arrange for ample parking space in front of the residence.
• Your goods will be brought back to our warehouse and measured/weighted for invoicing. You will receive an invoice and weight ticket. On request cash payments to the courier are possible. You will receive the invoice by e-mail.
STEP 6: Shipping and delivery
• After receiving your payment your goods will be sent to destination. Our banking details are on the invoice.
• For some destination custom clearance is necessary. You can be contacted by customs for additional documentation/payment of import taxes and duties (depending on country of destination).
